The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was enacted in March of 2010 to assist qualifying individuals and families in getting comprehensive, affordable health insurance plans. It allows subsidies, also know as Premium Tax Credits, that lower the cost of health insurance for households with incomes between 100% and 400% of the Federal Poverty Level. ACA plans are Open Enrollment for the ACA plans is November 1st through January 15th. ACA plans are through private insurance companies and are not government aid programs. The ACA plans are guaranteed issue plans which means they cover pre-existing conditions.
